In the spirit of the teachings of Jesus Christ, the church supports the ministry of its members as they strive to use their God-given gifts for ministry.  As we are taught in Ephesians 4:11-12.

"It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up."   Eph. 4:11-12

One of our members has felt called to start this important local ministry.

HIS House is a grass-roots project started by a member of the congregation who has been active in the Food and Friends soup kitchen for a few years; This member describes the experience of being called by God this way ... "First Baptist Church is a community-minded, missions-oriented church. The church has first-hand associations with people from many other churches and social organizations. People of different denominations hold programs at the First Baptist Church in an effort to help others. I decided to start my own local mission that would include all of these associations under the banner HIS House. My mission is to build relationships with people interested in supporting the needs of others. This is a faith-based
idea that gives glory to God by matching the needs of people with the giving heart. Hebrews 3: 4 says it best ... For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is GOD. thus ... HIS House."

HIS House is sponsoring several initatives in association with the Attleboro Area Council of Churches and the First Baptist Church of Mansfield.

Get involved and have some fun in HIS name:

  • HIS House is sponsoring six men from the soup kitchen for Red Cross training for CPR and techniques to help people who are choking.
  • Provides automobile maintenance for people who regularly drive more than four others to the soup kitchen. The program includes paying for regular oil changes and a weekly gas allowance.
  • Food ‘n Friends participants that volunteer to serve at another Food ‘n Friends kitchen will be given tee shirts, trained by Food ‘n Friends and be able to have the shirt and a pair of slacks laundered for free each week.
  • HIS House web page, so that the charities like Food ‘n Friends have a central place to post their programs.
  • HIS House would like to encourage people in neighboring communities to copy, clone or support their own support to people in need.
  • HIS House would like to have someone donate office, warehouse or even advertising space to keep HIS House name out in front of people. God is in charge of day to day operations; if anyone wants they can speak to HIM directly.
